This award recognizes scholars, educators, and communicators whose efforts have significantly advanced public understanding of science, fostered dialogue across disciplines, and inspired society through accessible and engaging communication. By constituting this award, AOR affirms its commitment to bridging the gap between research and society, celebrating those who transform complex scientific ideas into narratives that enlighten, empower, and encourage informed participation in science.

Best Student Project Award
The Association for Olfaction Research (AOR) proudly institutes the Best Student Project Award to recognize outstanding student-led research and innovation. This award celebrates projects that demonstrate originality, scientific rigor, and potential impact in advancing knowledge across disciplines, with particular encouragement for contributions that intersect with olfaction science and allied fields. By constituting this award, AOR affirms its commitment to fostering young talent, encouraging hands-on exploration, and promoting excellence in student research. The award serves as a platform to highlight the creativity, dedication, and promise of the next generation of scientists.

Fellow of the Association for Olfaction Research
The Fellowship of the Association for Olfaction Research (FAOR) is the Association’s prestigious membership distinction, awarded through nomination and election to individuals who have made notable contributions to olfaction science, genomics, bioinformatics, chemosensory research, or allied disciplines. Candidates are expected to demonstrate sustained professional excellence and at least five years of influential research, teaching, leadership, or scientific service. Election as an AOR Fellow recognizes professional standing, scientific impact, and commitment to the Association’s mission, while providing enhanced visibility and opportunities to contribute to AOR initiatives. Elected Fellows are entitled to use the postnominal designation FAOR.

AOR Research Fellowship
The AOR Research Fellowship is a competitive annual fellowship designed to support outstanding researchers and early-career scientists working in olfaction and allied disciplines. The fellowship provides research funding, expert mentorship, access to collaborative networks, and opportunities to present findings at AOR scientific events. It is particularly suited to innovative projects in olfactory receptor biology, sensor technologies, AI-driven odor modelling, genomics, and clinical olfaction.

AOR Translational Research Fellowship
The AOR Translational Research Fellowship promotes research that transforms scientific discoveries into practical solutions with societal, clinical, environmental, or technological impact. The fellowship supports projects involving diagnostic tools, digital olfaction and electronic-nose technologies, environmental monitoring systems, biosensors, therapeutic applications, and other innovations based on chemosensory science. Its goal is to accelerate the translation of laboratory findings into real-world applications.

AOR Student Research Fellowship
The AOR Student Research Fellowship supports promising undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students who wish to undertake innovative research in olfaction science and related fields. Selected fellows receive financial assistance, research guidance, and access to scientific resources, along with priority opportunities to participate in AOR workshops, conferences, training programmes, and collaborative research activities. The fellowship aims to encourage young researchers to develop strong scientific foundations and contribute to the future of olfaction research.
