Research & Projects

The Association for Olfaction Research (AOR) actively supports and promotes a wide range of collaborative research projects spanning the entire 5S spectrum :  Smell, Sensors, Signal, Simulation, and Systems. Our current and upcoming projects focus on integrative approaches that combine olfactory biology with cutting-edge sensor technologies, advanced signal processing, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and real-world translational applications. Members get priority access to ongoing initiatives, including multi-institutional studies on olfactory receptor dynamics, digital olfaction systems, disease diagnostics through volatile biomarkers, and AI-driven odor prediction models.

Through strategic partnerships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and international research consortia, AOR facilitates funded projects, mentorship opportunities, and data-sharing platforms. We emphasize translational research that bridges fundamental science with practical outcomes from developing next-generation electronic noses and diagnostic tools to creating simulation frameworks for sensory neuroscience. All projects are designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate innovation in olfaction science.
